Our quest for the best booksize PC case is finally over.  A brief synopsis of this saga is as follows.  We first sold the PC Chips & ECS barebones booksize PC’s.  This was a nightmare.  RMA was high and we were forced to send back the entire unit to the mfg.  We then located a small Flex ATX case by Inwin.  This was a better  solution because the quality was fantastic and we could build and repair them in-house.  The problem was only being able to find one motherboard in a Flex ATX form factor.  We brought in the Micro ATX version of the same case.  However, it was more a standard desktop case rather than a booksize.  Finally, we have located a booksize case that accepts micro ATX motherboards.  Our initial experience with this case has been great.  The VT21 has a 180 watt power supply and front USB connections.  The case sells for $49.  We have many Micro ATX motherboards that will fit.

One last note about CPU warranty mentioned in the last newsletter.  Effective 3/25/02, all OEM CPU’s will return to 75 day warranty.  This applies to all Intel processors and all AMD Duron, XP, and MP processors.  It will not apply to any original Athlon processors.  Almost all of the original Athlons are now end of life.
