 INTEL PRICE CUT

Intel dropped prices once again Sunday Night.  Prices on all P4 higher speed processors will be affected the most.  These scheduled price drops usually bring higher prices for a couple of weeks before and take a couple of weeks after to actually see the full affect of the reductions.  By the time this newsletter is published we should have updated pricing on the price list.  Please check the price list on our website Tuesday night or Wednesday morning just to be sure.

 PENTIUM 4 CELERON

Intel is releasing a low cost solution to the Pentium 4.  It is a 128K-cache version of the Pentium 4.  The price and availability for this product should show up on our price list within the next week.  You may already be aware that there is a 256K and a 512K version of the 1.6, 1.8, and 2.0 Pentium 4.  The 2.2 and 2.4 are only available with 512K and all others are currently only available with 256K.  This applies to the 478-pin version only, not the 423 pin.

MORE ON VIDEO CARD INCOMPATIBILITY

MSI has put an addendum in most of their motherboard manuals listing the video cards that could potentially cause damage to the board.  There are quite a few that we sell regularly and have no problems with any other boards.  Here is the list:

ATI XPERT 2000

ATI RAGE FURRY MAXX

DIAMOND MONSTER FUSION

HERCULES KYRO II 4500

LEADTEK WINFAST VR300

MATROX MILLENNIUM G400

STB 3DFX VOODOO3 3500TV

Although these are good cards, they may damage certain MSI motherboards.
