ARE YOU BUYING ILLEGAL SOFTWARE?

First of all let me apologize for the delay in getting this newsletter, the pricelist, and the online store pricing updated.  By the time you read this newsletter they should all be completed.  I am more than a week behind because of the Denver Itec show.  I saw a lot of you there and enjoyed talking with you about your upcoming needs.

Over the past several weeks I have had several people ask me about buying licenses for operating systems and other software.  I need to make this perfectly clear because many of you are putting yourselves at risk.  The only way you can legally buy this software is either retail full version, (we do not sell retail versions) retail upgrade version, (we don’t sell that either) or OEM full version from us.  It is your responsibility as a reseller to sell OEM versions legally.  They only way you can legally sell OEM software is either with a new computer system or bundled with approved hardware components.

There are no license only sales allowed anymore!  There are companies out there, most on the internet, who are selling licenses only for a big discount.  Don’t get sucked in.  This is highly illegal and you can face some serious criminal charges if you resell it.

RMA PROCEDURES REVISITED

As you may or may not be aware, there have been some staffing changes at S&K.  The person who was in charge of RMA is no longer here.  A big part of the reason is RMA’s have been handled incorrectly.  If you want to return something for credit, exchange something, or have us handle it in any way, you must obtain an RMA number.  If you don’t get a number you will have better luck sending it to the moon.  It will be lost in that void we call the RMA black hole.  RMA and cross-ship authorization forms can be downloaded from our website.  This rule will not be broken or bent any longer.  If it is followed, we will be able to process your RMA quickly and efficiently.  Our New RMA clerk is Gina Ruiz.  You can contact her with any questions regarding RMA.

IWILL MOTHERBOARDS

Yesterday I met with a representative from Iwill.  If you haven’t heard of this motherboard manufacturer I would be surprised.  They have been around for a long time.  They are looking for a distribution point in the Rocky Mountain Region and we fit the bill.  We are bringing in a shipment of these boards within the next week.  We have already completed some initial testing and these boards seem to be a great fit for us.  We really don’t like selling junk boards but some of you just don’t want to spend the extra few dollars for quality.  I am hoping that these boards will help us eliminate the junk i.e. PcChips and ECS.  We will keep you informed.
