 POWER SUPPLIES WILL IMPROVE

Our best selling case is about to get better.  It will also get a little more expensive.  You know the old saying “You get what you pay for.”  This statement couldn’t be more accurate when dealing with computer components.  We have been selling the CI68U2 (Hermes) cases, and many of our other cases, with Award power supplies.  The RMA rate on these power supplies has been too high for too long.  The manufacturer promised us that the quality would improve within the last month.  It has been better but still over acceptable limits.  Power supplies have been our number one RMA’d item for quite some time.  We have decided to do away with Award and only use an AMD/Intel approved power supply.  This will increase the price of the case by $7.  Trust me, it is well worth it!  When you consider all the time spent diagnosing, removing, replacing, and your travel time $7 is a drop in the bucket. 

 MINIMUM HARD DRIVE CAPACITY

We have carried hard drives below 40GB for a long time.  They have all been end-of-life for many months.  We have noticed, as with many products, when they are end of life the quality starts to fade.  Maxtor is the only manufacturer still selling drives below 40GB.  The RMA rate on these drives has been too high lately.  Most of the drives have been dead right out of the box.  We have taken them off the price list.   

MORE CASUALTIES OF THE ECONOMY

We have had 3 vendors go out of business in the past 6 months.  2 of them were software suppliers who provided most of our non-Microsoft products and some of the odd Microsoft products.  We are limited on what software we are currently able to provide. We are looking for some new suppliers.  If you need software, please call us and we will tell you what is available to us.  This does not affect the mainstream Microsoft products; Windows, Office, Server, etc. 

  THIS WEEKS HOURS OF OPERATION

We will be closed Thursday November 28th for Thanksgiving.  However, we will be open Friday November 29th from 10AM to 2PM for will-call only.  There will be no tech support or RMA available on that day.  Please be patient on that day, as we will be running with minimal staff.
